FOODING:-

“Fooding” is mainly related to food, but with different meanings. The food that we usually get is classified into living and non-living categories: – Living means natural products that start rotting after being kept for some time – Non-living means packaged foods that do not spoil for years due to harmful preservatives but have a very negative effect on our health. DISADVANTAGES

  • Artificial additives: Preservatives, colorings, and flavor enhancers may have negative health effects over time.

2. Loss of Nutritional Value

  • Processing may reduce nutrients: Vitamins and minerals can be lost during manufacturing or preservation.
  • Lower fiber content: Many packaged foods are refined and lack dietary fiber.

 3. Environmental Impact

  • Packaging waste: Plastics, cans, and wrappers contribute to pollution and are often non-biodegradable.
  • High carbon footprint: Manufacturing and transportation of packaged goods can add to environmental degradation.

4. Over-Reliance on Processed Foods

  • Discourages fresh food consumption: Convenience can lead people to eat fewer fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole foods.

CONCLUSION:-

It can`t be said that packaged food is inherently bad, but the fact that excessive processing and high levels of additives in many packaged foods can negatively impact health and the environment. It is quiet evident that Packaged foods often lack essential nutrients, contain high amounts of unhealthy fats, sugars, and sodium, and may include artificial ingredients which is one of the main reason for health suffering. 

Additionally, the production and packaging of these foods can contribute to environmental problems like deforestation and plastic waste which will further lead to serious consequences.

In recent decades, ultra-processed foods have become common in diets worldwide leading to a massive hike in the number of diseases all over the world. However, eating large amounts of these foods increases risks to health, to rebalance the diet or make it more healthful, a person can replace ultra-processed foods with whole foods, including grains, nuts, seeds, lean meats, fruits, vegetables, and legumes.

The policy makers “should shift their priorities away from food reformulation – which risks positioning ultra-processed food as a solution to dietary problems – towards a greater emphasis on promoting the availability, affordability, and accessibility of unprocessed or minimally processed fresh foods.

Limiting the proportion of ultra-processed foods in the diet and promoting consumption of unprocessed or minimally processed fresh foods are the key to improve global public health and also to nourish families, society, economies and the environment, finally will help the mankind enjoy a healthy & happy life.
